A special gift is our way of talking about a one-time gift that is not recurring.

Because our missionaries and church planters raise a monthly budget, many donors do choose to give a regularly monthly amount that the missionary can plan into their budget. Special gifts are always very welcome and effective in ministry, but they usually do not count towards the monthly ministry budget or increase their "percent funded."
